Terms & Conditions

Effective 12 June 2026 · Applies to the Niyam Android app and www.myniyam.com

1. Who we are, and what these terms cover

Niyam ("we", "us") provides an Android application that shows a mantra of your choosing before selected apps open, and this website. By installing the app or using the site, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use Niyam.

2. What Niyam is — and is not

Niyam is a digital-wellbeing and devotional practice tool. It is not a medical, psychological, or therapeutic product, and it makes no health claims. Mantras and their translations are provided for devotional and educational use, with sources cited in the app. Niyam is not affiliated with Google, Instagram, Facebook, YouTube, or any app it can block.

3. Free tier, trial, and Premium

4. Your promises to us

5. Intellectual property

The mantras themselves belong to humanity's shared tradition. Our original translations, transliterations, app design, brand, and code are © Niyam. You receive a personal, non-transferable licence to use the app; nothing more is transferred.

6. Honest limits of our responsibility

Niyam adds friction to distracting apps; it does not guarantee any outcome, and it can be affected by device settings outside our control (for example, manufacturer battery optimisations). The app and site are provided "as is". To the maximum extent Indian law permits, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses; our total liability is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited under law.

7. Changes and termination

We may update the app, the free tier's contents, and these terms. Material changes will be posted here with a new effective date. You may stop using Niyam at any time by uninstalling it; we may suspend service for abuse of these terms.

8. Grievances, governing law

For complaints or grievances, contact our grievance contact at netipranavaditya@gmail.com. We aim to acknowledge within 7 days and resolve within 90 days, in line with India's Digital Personal Data Protection framework. These terms are governed by the laws of India; courts in India have jurisdiction.
